On the bank holiday weekend of 24th, 25th & 26th May 2013, Strummercamp festival (celebrating the life and music of Joe Strummer) will come to Manchester for the magnificent eighth festival. This year the “friendliest festival around” aims to bring you even more value for money and more stages.

The amazing The Undertones will be headlining Saturday night. They will be joined by The Men They Couldn’t Hang and Vice Squad.
We are also blown away that The Beat are going to close the festival on Sunday night. They will also be joined on the mainstage by Spear of Destiny, The Neville Staple Band, The Three Johns and many more tbc.

Members of the Rugby, Cricket and Squash teams will be taking part in this three hour zumba event to raise funds that will go towards improvements to the facilities of the main function room, the Woodhead Suite.
Our resident Zumba instructor Aimee will be leading the Zumbathon and Championing the players on throughout the event.

On Saturday 26 May, LadyRock Festival comes to Grove Park in Greater Manchester to bring a bit of ‘girl power’ back to the 21st century.
Headliner KT Tunstall, the Brit Award winning, Scottish rockstress joins a great line-up for the festival including: Jess Mills, DJ Kate Lawler, The Arcadian Kicks, Heather Peace, New Young Pony Club, Josephine, Second Hand Wings,Horse, Ronika, DJ Merry, DJ Rivca and many more.!
The event is the first of its kind in the North West, and will feature music, comedy and performance/participatory art across the site’s numerous (and ‘themed’) areas. Of course, as a festival paying homage to the wonder of womanhood, each and every one of these acts will be female (or female fronted).
LadyRock Festival was created, with passion and belief, to fill a much needed void in today’s festival circuit. Today more than ever the arts industry – whether well-known, up-and-coming or underground – is rife with female talent. It is our time to shout about it and celebrate it together.

We are also blown away that New Model Army are going to close the festival on Sunday night. They will also be joined on the mainstage by Neck and local heros Goldblade.
